1. SPEAK OUT ABOUT STUDENT DEBT
TAKE ACTION by signing the StudentDebtCrisis.org letter to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan to tell them the GOP Tax Scam is bad for students, borrowers, and families.

C2A Republicans just gave billionaires a present for the holidays by passing the GOP Tax Scam. The House and Senate completed their final vote, now the bill is on its way to the president’s desk. We have to hold Congress accountable. Hard working people, like us, know that increasing taxes on families is not a win. The only way to shake up lawmakers who supported the disastrous tax bill is by denying them of their so-called “victory.” It’s up to us to make sure the GOP doesn’t get away with their tax scam. That is why we need as many of you as possible to share your voice and tell them you oppose politicians who sold out students in favor of billionaires.
2. SUPPORT DREAMERS
TAKE ACTION by calling Senator Schumer and Minority Leader Pelosi and telling them:
“Please don’t sell out Dreamers! These law-abiding immigrants are helping our economy and they deserve a path to citizenship.”
- Sen. Charles E. Schumer: (202) 224-6542
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi: (202) 225-4965
C2A Trump has slashed legal protections for 800,000 Dreamers — young undocumented immigrants.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION There are many reasons why providing DACA recipients a path to citizenship is good for America. Humanitarian reasons lead the long list of why DACA recipients deserve a welcome mat from us. I would like to talk about economic reasons as well. There are around 800,000 undocumented young immigrants using the DACA program. After obtaining an education, these immigrants are entering the workforce, buying goods, pursuing higher educations to get better jobs to make more money, paying taxes, and becoming entrepreneurs.
All of these actions have helped grow the United States’ economy, benefiting them and you. A study by the Center for American Progress has “calculated that ending DACA would wipe away at least $433.4 billion from the U.S. gross domestic product, or GDP, cumulatively over a decade.” Ending DACA would have a drastic negative effect on the economy, which would directly harm the average American’s economic well-being.
